MediaWorks 2017

26 - 29 April, Hanoi, Vietnam

MediaWorks returns to Hanoi for the 12th year to test the newest batch of rising stars in the media and communications industry. The bootcamp-style workshop is an intense and uniquely rewarding learning experience featuring a 4-day course designed to challenge young talent to think quickly and creatively execute their ideas as a team. Attendees gain the skills needed to survive today’s ever-changing industry.

Guided by senior level industry experts, MediaWorks replicates real-life scenarios, tasking syndicate teams to pitch to a real client on a real brief. Attendees must brainstorm, prepare and present their pitch for the account to a panel of industry heads and to the client.

As part of the workshop, MediaWorks incorporates a one-day conference which gathers industry leaders and professional trainers to examine practical applications such as obstacles facing the next generation, strategies for winning pitches and how to encourage creativity while delivering the client’s objectives.

Testimonials from the mentors

"There is something magical about the Mediaworks experience. A group of people who don't know each other transform into a high performance team; a challenging brief results in ideas that have the power to reshape a business; a group of worried mentors beam with pride on the final day. The experience reminds you of why you got into the business and leaves you re-energised for more"

Amrita Randhawa

CEO, China & Hong Kong

"MediaWorks is an amazing live learning experience for the delegates, but I think it is equally as valuable for the mentors. The challenge of working with a young team and helping them to find their own voice without stepping in and doing is very real and humbling. Both years I feel like I have walked away wiser and more able to do my job."

Anathea Ruys

Head of Fuse

“This is an extremely useful program for the young media talent. They will Learn to build a high performing team, crack the brief and perform on stage in less than 48 hours. What better way to learn than to venture into the tiger’s den to catch the tiger! Immense energy, boldness to get out of one’s comfort zone and seamless teamwork are needed to succeed. Certainly not for the faint-hearted!”

Chor-Mui Lee

Head of Communications Planning, APAC

“Mediaworks is an amazing forum where media professionals come together, are placed into a scenario with limited time to deliver amazing work. I was amazed at the quality of work produced by the delegates, some with less than 6 months experience. It opens your eyes up to the talent we have in our industry and gives me reassurance for its’ future. If you are given the opportunity, I would recommend getting involved, either as a delegate or as mentor, either way you will get a lot from the most intense 60 hours of your life, and you might even get some sleep too!”

Nathan Cook

Head of Trading, Asia Pacific

“Real life Modern day Mad Men (and Women) – condensed and refined to 3 mind-blowing days.”

Navaneeta Das

International Client President, Asia Pacific

"MediaWorks grows in strength year after year, transforming the way winning pitches should be created. It's a must-attend event for rising stars in the industry. Mentors gain as much as delegates, professionally and personally!"
